HR Support Apprentice

Job Introduction

Are you looking to kickstart a career in an exciting HR support role? Do you have a ‘can do’ attitude? Well, you’re in luck! 

We have an amazing opportunity to join us as a HR Apprentice, you’ll be supporting the team in providing a first-class service to customers on all things HR. You’ll be able to develop some key skills and have the opportunity to get involved, playing a key role in supporting our customers.

What will I be doing?  

Working in the heart of our People team, you’ll provide effective administrative support and really have the chance to make a difference. This will include updating documentation, arranging meetings, gathering insights and general mailbox coordination. 

Core to the role is shadowing our People and Culture advisors with day to day tasks and even joining them in employee relation cases. This will give you some excellent insight and knowledge of grievance, disciplinary, performance management and other HR related processes along the way.  

In this all-round position you’ll also collaborate with other HR functions like Recruitment, HR Operations and Learning and Development. You’ll also be able to showcase your excellent communication skills when talking to our colleagues and customers.

What you’ll bring to the role 

  • A passion for customer service - or as we say at YH “Customer Obsessed” 
  • 5 GCSE’s at grade C/4 or above including English and Math’s  
  • Good organisational skills with an ability to multitask and manage own workload and priorities in order to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality 
  • Able to produce work of a high standard and level of attention to detail 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to deal with face to face, telephone and written enquiries in a courteous manner 
  • Willingness to make an impact  
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel Outlook

In return, we offer a salary of up to £17,290 per annum (dependant on experience) for 35 hours per week, 25 days annual leave (rising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays.

The fine print  

The closing date for applications will be 02/04/2024, but we might close it early if we get lots of fab candidates, so don’t hang around. As this role is an apprenticeship, it’s a 24-month fixed contract, but once your fully qualified we’d work with you to secure you an opportunity with us at Yorkshire Housing as we know good talent when we see it!
