Gas Multiskilled

Job Introduction

Ey up! Are you a Gas professional, looking for your next role, working for an organisation that makes a real difference in people’s lives? Well, you’re in the right place.

We're recruiting Gas Service and Maintenance Engineers to join the fantastic Gas Team in our East region primarily, but you could be asked to work anywhere across Yorkshire.

How much?

We pay £39,707.01 per annum for a 37.5-hour week – that’s £20.36 per hour.

You’ll get 25 days of paid annual leave (rising annually to 30) plus Bank Holidays. We offer a fantastic pension scheme and will match your contribution up to 9%.

You can also claim back for medical appointments, prescriptions and more through our colleague cash plan, and access thousands of retail discounts with Perkbox.

When?

You’ll work a 37.5-hour week, and your contracted hours will vary, and could be between 8am-8pm (Mon-Fri, 7.5 hours a day).

You may occasionally carry out services on a Saturday morning as part of your contracted hours, and there’s the opportunity to work overtime when required.

Where?

You’ll be working predominantly in the York/Malton area. From time to time, you might be asked to travel to other locations across Yorkshire.

With who?

You’ll work with an experienced, dynamic and friendly team across the region, and receive training from our experts to ensure you meet our quality guidelines.

And what about us?

You might think of Yorkshire Housing as ‘just’ a housing provider, but we’re so much more than that.

We own and manage nearly 20,000 homes (and counting) across Yorkshire, and our mission is to make it possible for our tenants to have a place they’re proud to call home.

Our service doesn’t stop once the keys are in the door, and as part of our Gas team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our tenants feel safe, valued and proud to live in a Yorkshire Housing home from day one.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll carry out annual gas services/safety checks and maintain gas boilers/heating systems following the manufacturer’s instructions, in accordance with the Gas Safety (installation and use) Regulations and Yorkshire Housings policies and procedures.

You’ll be the face of Yorkshire Housing to many of our customers. So, respectful, warm and professional communication is a key part of this role.

You’ll also work closely with the compliance team in ensuring work is undertaken safely.

The stuff that sets you apart

This role would suit someone with previous experience Servicing and maintaining Gas boilers and heating systems.

You’ll be able to deal with different priorities and work to deadlines, whilst maintaining high standards of work.

You’ll hold current ACS Certificates CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 & CKR1 or equivalent. A full driving licence is required to carry out the role.

For a full breakdown of the role and requirements, please refer to the attached job description.
