Empty Homes Administrator

Job Introduction

At Yorkshire Housing, we believe everyone deserves a home they’re proud of — and that starts with making sure every empty home is turned around smoothly, efficiently and to the highest standards. That’s where you come in.

We’re on the lookout for a highly organised, proactive Empty Homes Administrator to join our Empty Homes team. You’ll play a vital role in keeping the wheels turning, providing top‑notch administrative support and helping us get every empty home ready to let on time, every time.

If you love detail, enjoy working with different teams, and get a buzz from keeping things running like clockwork, this could be the perfect role for you. #makeithappen

Why this role rocks

You’ll be at the heart of the Empty Homes process, making sure everything stays on track and everyone has the information they need. That means:

  • Coordinating case management for empty homes — carrying out initial checks, raising repairs and triggering essential works
  • Working closely with Resource Planning to schedule gas, electric, environmental services and more
  • Tracking key requirements like asbestos surveys, EPCs, lock changes and removals, ensuring progress is logged every step of the way
  • Keeping our systems updated with accurate, real-time information to support clear audit trails
  • Liaising with operatives, sub‑contractors and internal teams to keep work flowing and escalate issues when needed
  • Handling all admin relating to utilities and council tax for empty homes
  • Pulling together documentation for new customer welcome packs and supporting customer satisfaction processes.
  • Acting as a key link between the Empty Homes Team and New Customer Team, keeping everyone informed and aligned.

You’ll be part of a friendly, fast‑paced team that’s passionate about doing the right thing for our customers and delivering homes we can be proud of.

What we’re looking for

We’re after someone who’s organised, confident and committed to delivering a high‑quality service. You’ll thrive if you bring:

  • Experience in repairs, voids/empty homes, or a similar administrative environment
  • A strong customer focus — you take pride in being helpful, approachable and solution‑driven
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow processes accurately
  • Confidence juggling competing deadlines and managing your own workload
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • The ability to communicate well with internal teams, contractors and customers
  • A proactive mindset — you’re not afraid to take ownership, ask questions and suggest improvements

Why you’ll love working here
