As our Tree Team Leaderyou'll be the guiding force behind our tree operatives, ensuring they deliver top-notch arboriculture services across Yorkshire. You'll be the go-to expert for all things trees, from climbing and pruning to felling and aerial rescue.

What you'll do: 

  • Lead and manage a team of skilled tree operatives, providing clear direction and support to ensure smooth operations across Yorkshire. You'll be the driving force behind our tree-mendous team!
  • Offer expert advice on arboriculture techniques and safety, sharing your extensive knowledge with the team. 
  • Handle customer escalations with professionalism and a positive attitude, resolving issues efficiently. Got a complaint about a rogue branch? You'll turn that frown upside down!
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, prioritising safety in all operations. 
  • Climb trees and perform aerial operations with expertise, ensuring high-quality tree care. 
  • Monitor and maintain our Tree Works programme, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. 
  • Liaise with community groups, housing staff, and other stakeholders, building strong relationships and fostering collaboration. 
  • Drive and operate specialist vehicles, utilising advanced equipment to carry out tree services effectively. Who needs a sports car when you can drive a tree-chipping machine?

 

What you'll bring: 

  • The following certifications or their equivalent NPTC (CS30/31, CS38/39, CS40/41), PA1 & PA6 Use and Application of Chemicals, NPTC A07 Lantra stump grinder.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You'll be able to talk to anyone, from a grumpy oak tree to a chatty customer.
  • A customer-obsessed mindset with a drive for excellence. 
  • A strategic, proactive, problem-solving approach. You'll tackle challenges head-on.
  • Experience in arboriculture, climbing, and aerial rescue. You'll be the Indiana Jones of tree work, ready for any adventure.
  • A full UK driver's license (bonus points for trailer and plant towing experience).

Here’s what’s in it for you.. 

This a full-time permanent role with a salary of £39,220 per annum, for a 35-hour week plus 25 days annual leave (rising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays.  You’ll also receive a van and fuel card with this role, for work use only.

The fine print   

The closing date for applications will be 16.02.25, but we might close it early if we get lots of great candidates, so don’t hang around.  We’ll be holding first stage interviews on 24.02 & 25.02.25 in Leeds centre, followed by a practical assessment which will involve working at heights on 15.03 & 16.03.25Please make sure you’re available for both interview and practical assessment dates before applying.
