Technical and Compliance Officer

Job Introduction

Help people live independently in homes that work for them as our new Technical and Compliance Officer in our adaptations team.

From wet rooms and specialist equipment through to larger home extensions, you'll take ownership of adaptation projects from start to finish – helping customers live safely, comfortably and independently in their homes. The role combines technical expertise, project management and stakeholder collaboration, with plenty of variety and the chance to see the real impact of your work every day.

We believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go, so if you're looking for flexibility, autonomy and a role where what you do really matters, we'd love to hear from you.

What we're all about

You might think of Yorkshire Housing as 'just' a housing provider, but we're so much more than that.

We make it possible for people to have a place they're proud to call home, and our adaptations team plays a huge part in that. Whether it's helping someone remain independent or making a home more accessible, every piece of work you deliver will make a real difference to a customer's life.

What will you be doing?

You'll manage adaptation works from initial customer consultation through to completion, making sure work is delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard.

Day to day you'll:

  • Deliver adaptation projects including wet rooms, extensions and specialist equipment installations.
  • Work closely with customers, contractors, occupational therapists and local authorities.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines and risks.
  • Oversee contractor performance and quality standards on site.
  • Lead on specialist equipment compliance and adaptation accreditation requirements.
  • Be the trusted technical expert for colleagues and stakeholders.

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who's technically confident, organised and passionate about delivering excellent outcomes for customers.

You'll bring:

  • A relevant building qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Experience delivering disability adaptation projects.
  • Knowledge of planning processes and building regulations.
  • Experience managing contractors and project delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems proactively.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across Yorkshire.

  • 26 days holiday (rising with service) + bank holidays
