Technical Surveyor
We're looking for an experienced and customer-focused Technical Surveyor to join our Damp and Mould team, helping to ensure our homes across Yorkshire are safe, compliant and maintained to a high standard. In this role, you'll use your technical expertise to diagnose property issues, carry out surveys, support repairs delivery and help provide the best possible outcomes for our customers.

Maintaining safe, quality homes is a key priority for us. As a Technical Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in identifying property issues, ensuring repairs are specified correctly, supporting compliance requirements and helping us deliver excellent services to our customers.
What will you be doing?
You'll be responsible for carrying out property inspections, completing surveys, diagnosing repair issues and ensuring follow-on works are raised and completed efficiently. You'll use your technical knowledge to support operational teams, provide quality assurance and help resolve complex property-related cases.
Working closely with colleagues, contractors and customers, you'll take ownership of cases from initial assessment through to completion, ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service.
Your role will combine technical expertise, problem solving and customer focus to ensure our homes remain safe, well maintained and compliant.
You'll also:
- Attend properties to complete make safe works, surveys and inspections.
- Diagnose complex repairs and specify appropriate remedial works.
- Act as a technical referral point for damp and mould, disrepair and other escalated cases.
- Carry out quality checks and audits of completed works.
- Provide technical guidance and support to operatives and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with contractors and internal teams to achieve successful outcomes.
- Ensure all activities meet health and safety, compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Support complaint investigations and resolution.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and case information.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and customer experience.
- Where needed, jump on the tools to help with repairs
This is a fast-paced and varied role where you'll spend time travelling across Yorkshire, visiting customers' homes and working closely with operational teams.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is technically knowledgeable, customer focused and passionate about maintaining quality homes.
You'll bring:
- Strong technical knowledge of building construction, maintenance and repairs.
- Understanding of health and safety requirements and housing standards.
- Experience working within a repairs, maintenance or property environment.
- A diagnostic and solution-focused approach to resolving issues.
- Confidence providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues, contractors and customers.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to identify quality or compliance concerns.
- Experience managing your own workload and working independently.
- Confidence using digital systems and maintaining accurate records.
- A full UK driving licence.
It would be great if you also have:
- A technical qualification such as HNC, RICS, CIOB or equivalent.
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- Experience supervising contractors or overseeing works on site.
- Specialist knowledge in areas such as damp and mould, building pathology or sustainability.
