Job Introduction
Do you love staying organised, helping people, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes? Curious about how organisations grow future talent and support people to thrive?
If yes - we’ve got the perfect opportunity for you.
Let us tell you more……
As our Talent Development Administrator Apprentice, you’ll join a friendly, busy Learning team where no two days look the same. You’ll support both our Emerging Talent Lead and the wider Learning team - diving into early careers work and the rest helping run our learning programmes, events and projects.
You’ll gain hands on experience in a busy, supportive team while developing valuable administrative, organisational and communication skills. We’ll provide full on-the-job training and ongoing support to help you grow and build confidence in the role.
What qualification will I be working towards?
You’ll be working towards a Level 3 Business Administration qualification.
This will involve:
- One day per week dedicated to study
- College attendance (in Leeds) as and when required
- Completing all required assignments, assessments and exams alongside your role
What will I be doing?
You’ll be supported, guided and encouraged as you learn the role and build your skills within the team. Your work will help ensure our talent and learning initiatives are well organised, well promoted and delivered to a high standard.
Here’s some of what you’ll be getting involved in:
- Supporting careers, recruitment and learning events, including preparing materials and helping set up on the day
- Organising check ins and review meetings for our emerging talent programmes
- Scheduling and organising learning activities, work experience placements and events
- Booking rooms and training sessions, preparing and sending joining instructions and tracking attendance
- Keeping accurate and up to date records such as attendance lists, certificates and evaluations
- Monitoring the Learning and Apprentice email inboxes, responding to queries and escalating where needed
- Working with Finance and external training providers to help raise purchase orders, order resources and update budget trackers
- Bringing your creative ideas to life by designing and posting content for our social media channels and internal comms platforms.
- Representing Yorkshire Housing at schools, colleges and careers events
You’ll also get the chance to shadow the team and see first hand how our early talent work comes to life. From school outreach to building relationships with partners, you’ll learn how we plan and deliver activity that helps young people understand who we are and what we do.
You’ll also be involved in the behind the scenes prep for careers fairs and early talent programmes, giving you real insight into how these events are put together and what makes them engage. It’s a great way to build confidence, develop your communication skills and start taking on more responsibility as you grow into the role.
What you’ll bring to the role:
We’re looking for someone who is organised, enthusiastic and keen to build a career in administration. You’ll enjoy supporting others and take pride in keeping things accurate and well organised.
We're also looking for:
- Five GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above, including English and Maths
- A genuine interest in administration and developing a long-term career‑term career
- Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to help where needed
- Good communication skills and the confidence to speak to groups of young people at events
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high quality work‑quality work
- The ability to handle sensitive or confidential information appropriately
- Basic skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Teams
It would be a bonus if you have:
- A basic awareness of emerging talent or learning and development programmes
- Some previous office experience (this could be through school, volunteering or part‑time work)
- A full driving licence and your own transport so that you can travel to external sites
If you’re reading this and thinking “I don’t meet every single requirement” - don’t let that put you off. We’re interested in potential, attitude and willingness to learn just as much as experience.
To get started on this apprenticeship, you’ll need to:
- Be 16 or over on 7th September 2026
- Be able to live and work in the UK, and have lived here for the past three years
- Not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level or higher
- Not be in full‑time or part‑time education when your apprenticeship begins
