Stock Condition Surveyor Apprentice

Job Introduction

Do you want to kick start your career in the wonderful world of Housing?

Well, you’ve come to the right place! We have an amazing opportunity to join us as  an Apprentice Stock Condition Surveyor!   Curious to know what this means?  Let us tell you more……

Having a keen interest in energy efficiency and decarbonisation, you’ll be working closely with our Stock Condition Surveying Team, carrying out a range of building surveys and energy performance checks on homes across Yorkshire.  In a stock condition survey, we inspect the fixtures and fittings in our customers’ homes and our communal areas so that we can plan for any future maintenance or upgrades.  The energy performance checks factor in things such as carbon dioxide emissions and heating costs to give the property an energy efficiency rating.

At Yorkshire Housing, we’re all about investing in the next generation! This apprenticeship is your chance to gain essential skills while getting hands-on experience in creating safe, energy-efficient homes. You’ll also play a part in the bigger picture as we work towards the government’s target of all our homes hitting an energy rating of C or above by 2030. It’s a great opportunity to kickstart your career while making a real difference to the future of housing!

  • You’ll be getting out and about across Yorkshire as you travel with one of the team.  On the days where you’re not visiting our customers’ homes, you’ll be able to work from home.

But that's not all – you’ll also spend time with our Asset Intelligence, Investment Delivery, and Sustainability Teams, giving you a full picture of the sector and how each team is driving change. It’s your chance to learn, grow, and be part of something exciting!

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 4 GCSE’s at Grade 4 (C) or above including English and Sciences and GCSE Maths at Grade 5 (B/C) or above

Please remember to complete your application is as much detail as possible, if your CV isn’t the most detailed, your application is your time to shine!

We know not everyone excels at interviews which means we don’t always get the best out of people in a traditional interview. So, as you can probably tell we don’t do things the ‘typical’ way here at Yorkshire Housing so the next step of the process will involve a super exciting assessment centre approach where we get to see you face to face!
