Job Introduction
We're recruiting for a super Scheme Manager to join our brilliant Customer Independence Team. You’ll take a leading role in the day to day running of Yorkshire Housing’s schemes in the York area.
You’ll provide support and signposting, and be responsible for premises management, liaising with other Yorkshire Housing teams and third-party organisations that provide care and other services to our customers.
Your key objective will be to support a vibrant community within the scheme, promoting independence and choice for our customers.
And what about us?
You might think of Yorkshire Housing as ‘just’ a housing provider, but we’re so much more than that. Yes, we own and manage nearly 20,000 homes (and counting) across Yorkshire and make it possible for current and future customers to have a place they’re proud to call home, but we’re also all about making a positive difference in people’s lives.
We are transforming our business by investing in people, processes and technology to deliver a consistently great experience for our customers. This role is one of a group of new leadership roles that have been created to make this happen.
We have a real focus on keeping our customers as independent as possible, and need superstars like you to help make that happen.
What you’ll be getting up to
Your days will be varied and you’ll be really getting involved in life at the Schemes. Housing Management will include marketing, lettings, dealing with low level ASB, rent queries and service charge reviews.
Customers support is also a key element, and you’ll be overseeing use of the buildings for social activities, wellbeing support, and working with other colleagues and agencies to support customer independence.
You’ll also be responsible for overall management of health and safety on scheme, including fire safety tests and audits. Ensuring all risk assessments are completed and regular checks are carried out and documented appropriately in accordance with Yorkshire Housing’s Health and Safety and Fire Safety policies and procedures.
You’ll be part of our on-call rota to provide out of hours support and advice at our sheltered schemes too.
Of course the full job description will have a full breakdown of responsibilities and requirements, so do check out the attached role profile.
