Salesforce Developer

Job Introduction

Are you an experienced Salesforce Developer with a passion for continuous improvement and transformation? If you’re looking for a role where innovation, flexibility, and customer obsession are at the heart of everything we do — this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What we’re all about

You might think of Yorkshire Housing as ‘just’ a housing provider, but we’re so much more than that. Yes, we own and manage nearly 20,000 homes (and counting) across Yorkshire and make it possible for current and future customers to have a place they’re proud to call home, but we’re also all about making a positive difference in people’s lives.

We’ve got big plans to overhaul the traditional customer service offer, build new homes that are truly future-proof and empower our people through flexibility and freedom to do their best work.

Our investment in technology is a key pillar of our strategy and our change team are working on exciting, complex and ambitious programmes to deliver a pre-emptive customer experience – who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

What will you be doing?

As our new Salesforce Developer, you’ll be a key part of our Technology, Innovation & Change team, reporting to the Applications Manager. Your focus will be on continuous improvement within BAU, supporting the Salesforce Administrators, and implementing change, complex bug fixes, and small releases across the platform.

You’ll take ownership of developing and maintaining Salesforce solutions that are aligned with service design and user stories, working to firm deadlines and ensuring smooth handover to testing and final sign-off. You’ll lead the Salesforce BAU development pipeline, ensuring best practices are followed and supporting the team with guidance and technical expertise.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the business to gather requirements, understand change requests, and deliver solutions that improve customer experience. As more business areas adopt Salesforce, your role will expand — making this a great opportunity to grow with the platform.

You’ll also:

  • Ensure all aspects of the Salesforce build are documented and transitioned into BAU support.
  • Support release management and automated deployments, maintaining version control and code quality.
  • Present progress and solutions to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Engage with suppliers and third parties when needed.
  • Stay up to date with Salesforce functionality, industry trends, and best practices.

Already feel this is the role for you? There’s much more useful information you can read in the Role Profile!

Who are we looking for?

This is a hands-on developer role, so you’ll need solid coding experience and a proactive approach to improving existing solutions. The rest would also be great too –

  • Proven experience in a similar Salesforce development role.
  • Advanced knowledge of Apex, Visualforce, Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Service Cloud and Experience Cloud.

  • Experience with Visual Studio, Lightning Design System, and Salesforce lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in large-scale transformation projects using Salesforce.
  • Confident communicator with stakeholder engagement skills.

What’s in it for you…

  • Salary: £64,391 per annum (35 hours/week)
  • 26 days annual leave (rising to 31 annually) + Bank Holidays
  • Permanent role
