Property Surveyor

Job Introduction

We’re on the lookout for a Property Surveyor to join us in Leeds, supporting customers living on the Swarcliffe estate. If you’re confident surveying homes, diagnosing repairs and working with contractors to keep properties in great shape, we’d love to hear from you.

This isn’t just any job – it’s a real chance to make a difference. You’ll play a big part in making sure our homes are safe, well‑maintained and meet the standards of the PFI contract. Your days will be varied: carrying out surveys, preparing specifications and schedules of work, checking the quality of repairs, and helping deliver both day‑to‑day maintenance and the wider lifecycle programme. You’ll use your technical know‑how to identify building defects, manage contractors on site, and ensure that homes meet standards so customers can move in without delay. You may also support insurance claims, help recover repair costs, and provide technical advice to colleagues, customers and our client.

You’ll see things through from start to finish and take real pride in the quality of your work. Most importantly, you’ll always put the customer first.

What you’ll get in return

You’ll receive £39,622.02, plus a £2,000 car allowance each year, along with:

  • 26 days’ holiday (rising to 31 with service)
  • Flexible working
  • A health cash plan (covering things like prescriptions and eye tests)
  • Retail discounts
  • A pension scheme where we’ll match your contributions up to 9%
  • Access to free fitness classes
  • Instant GP support
  • Confidential counselling
  • Learning and development opportunities to help you grow your career

To be successful in the role, you’ll need a strong understanding of domestic construction and experience surveying properties, producing specifications, estimating costs and monitoring repair quality. You’ll be comfortable working with IT systems — including Word, Excel, Outlook and maintenance databases — and able to produce clear written and verbal reports. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as well as the ability to work confidently with contractors, colleagues and customers.

It would be great if you also bring a recognised building qualification, such as a HNC/HND or degree, or are part of a professional body like RICS or CIOB. Experience working in a PFI environment or delivering planned or programmed works is a bonus, as is knowledge of health and safety in a property‑services setting.

If you want to join a team that genuinely cares about its customers and its people, we’d love to hear from you. Applications close 22nd March 2025, but we may close early if we find the right person.
