Job Introduction
Are you passionate about creating an exceptional colleague experience and thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment? Then this could be the role for you!
We’re on the lookout for a proactive, detail-oriented People Operations Coordinator to join our awesome People Operations Team! If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and be part of a team that truly cares about its people, we’d love to hear from you.
About Yorkshire Housing
You can probably already tell that we’re not your typical housing provider! With around 20,000 homes (and more in the pipeline), we’re on track with our growth plan to build 8,000 new homes across Yorkshire.
We’re dedicated to creating exceptional customer experiences along the way and are on a mission to build a culture that prioritises excellence, innovation, and customer obsession. Our People team are right at the heart of that.
As our People Operations Coordinator you’ll be the backbone of our HR function, supporting colleagues from the moment they join us, right through their journey here. You’ll be the friendly face (or voice!) that makes sure our colleagues and managers get the help they need, always delivering that best in class customer experience we’re known for.
What will I be doing?
Reporting in to the HR Operations Team Leader you’ll play a key role in supporting the entire colleague journey – from onboarding new hires, managing pay changes, benefits, and colleague records, to working on exciting HR projects. You’ll make sure that every interaction, both internal and external, leaves a lasting positive impression by embedding our customer-obsessed mindset into everything you do. We’ve broken down some key responsibilities here:
Keeping Everything Organised: You’ll prepare documents like employment contracts, promotions, and pay changes, and make sure all records are up-to-date and easy to find in our HR system (Cascade). You’ll also be the point person for making sure new starters get everything they need from day one, including keeping managers in the loop and submitting payroll info on time.
HR Systems : You’ll be the expert at keeping colleague data accurate and updated in Cascade, whether it’s about new hires, leavers, or personal detail changes. Plus, you’ll always be on the lookout for ways to make our systems work even better for everyone.
Payroll & Benefits Expert: You’ll work closely with payroll to ensure everything runs like clockwork for pay, pensions, and benefits. Whether it’s helping someone sign up for our health cash plan or communicating annual pay reviews, you’ll make sure colleagues are in the loop and feel supported.
Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and managers and be the go to person when they need help or have any HR queries. You’ll take ownership to get things sorted quickly. If something needs a bit more attention, you’ll know who to go to and make sure it’s handled smoothly.
What do you need from me?
- Experience in HR admin and coordination (think onboarding, contracts, and handling employment changes).
- Someone who knows their stuff when it comes to HR regulations and processes.
- An organisational whizz with sharp attention to detail – you never miss a beat!
- Someone who is customer-obsessed and loves providing a first-class service to colleagues.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- A team player who communicates well and is eager to learn and grow with us.
