People Business Partner

Job Introduction

Are you a values‑led HR professional who wants to make a real difference?
If you’re looking for a role where you can influence,
challenge, coach and help shape the future of an organisation - we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for a People Business Partner to join us on a 12‑month fixed term contract. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to deliver people strategies that support our ambition to become the UK’s best housing provider - while always doing the right thing for our colleagues.

What you’ll be doing

This is a true partnering role, with space to think strategically and get stuck in:

  • Partnering with senior leaders to embed leading people practices into business delivery
  • Balancing commercial priorities with our values, culture and long‑term vision
  • Acting as a trusted coach and adviser to leaders, supporting confident and effective people management
  • Owning and delivering people plans, using insight and data to shape your approach
  • Bringing pragmatic, evidence‑based thinking to complex people challenges
  • Collaborating across the People team to ensure consistency, alignment and legal compliance
  • Playing an active role in shaping the future of our organisation — not just maintaining the present

You’ll be a key link between the People function and the business, helping to create a positive, inclusive and impactful colleague experience.

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring strong experience and confidence in a senior HR partnering role, including:

  • A proven track record of partnering with senior leaders and supporting change
  • Experience managing complex ER issues, including disciplinaries and restructures
  • Confidence working with people data and turning insight into action
  • Line management experience, including developing and supporting others (direct management of 2 roles)
  • A collaborative, hands‑on approach - you’re happy to roll your sleeves up
  • The ability to use performance metrics to spark meaningful business conversations
  • A passion for talent, succession planning and colleague development
  • Strong relationship‑building skills - you build trust quickly and authentically
  • Comfort working in ambiguity, pace and change
  • Confidence making decisions, meeting deadlines and managing priorities
  • Strong written skills, with the ability to produce clear, high‑quality reports
  • Experience planning and delivering project work

For full details, please see the attached Role Profile.

What’s in it for you

  • £55,000 per year (35 hours per week)
  • 12‑month fixed term contract
  • 26 days annual leave, rising to 31 days, plus bank holidays
  • Pension matched up to 9%
  • Flexible hub, home, roam working
  • Health cash plan, retail discounts and wellbeing support
  • Access to My GP, counselling and free fitness classes
  • Ongoing development through internal and external learning opportunities
