New Homes Defect Co-ordinator (12 Months Fixed-Term- Maternity cover)

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

We’re excited to be able to open up this role of New Homes Defects Coordinator (12 Month Fixed Term Contract- maternity contract) to join our brilliant Development Team. This is a home-working agile role, with occasional visits to our central Leeds offices, other Yorkshire Housing locations and development sites.

The role will support the development team to deliver the defects service on our homes. You will build and maintain relationships with our Yorkshire Housing customer experience centre, Space Homes, contractors and consultants regarding defects and produce regular reports to enable defect contractors to record progress and close jobs. You will investigate complaints and provide responses to customers, helping to develop and improve our customer communication channels.

What we’re all about

Here at Yorkshire Housing our customers are at the heart of what we do – we call it being customer obsessed.  In a nutshell we own and manage nearly 20,000 homes (and counting) across Yorkshire, and our mission is to make it possible for our tenants to have a place they’re proud to call home.

We have huge growth plans, and that involves the development of new build homes, and giving the customers the best service…that is where you come in!

We want to ensure we have strong communications channels with all external contractors to resolve defects and provide customers with responses to their complaints, improving our service and generally supporting our development team.

What you’ll be getting up to

On a typical day you might be producing reports for the technical team, as well as the wider development team when required. You will be monitoring and actioning home defects and liaising with customers and contractors.

The next day you may be obtaining quotes for repairs that fall out of the defects process, and working with Yorkshire Housing’s surveyors to resolve latent defects and process warranty claims.

You will manage the defects inbox and respond efficiently, whilst providing admin support to the technical team.

A key part of this role is in the communication, and we hope you will be able to develop and improve communication channels with our customers.

Sounds good? Here’s what we need from you…
