If you’re looking for an Management Accountant role and are ready to take on your next challenge, then we might have just what you are looking for! We have a great opportunity for a 12 month fixed term (Maternity Cover) position, joining our Finance Team. 

You’ll be leading on the production of the monthly financial results and balances for your designated areas, and supporting our Financial Controller 

We have a fab team and you’ll work with the fixed asset accountant, finance business partners, and the wider finance team.

What you’ll be doing?

Leading the monthly review of financial results for your business area of responsibility, you’ll be able to stick to deadlines and take ownership of the monthly and year-end balance sheet reconciliation process. 

You’ll work with our Finance Business Partners (FBP), understanding any reasons for budget variances so we can provide meaningful summaries to help the business identify financial issues as they arise. 

Of course you’ll attend various monthly meetings with the FBP’s and other internal business stakeholders, as required, and provide invaluable accounting support and advice to the wider business. 

But that's not all – you'll be the go-to guru for your finance and non-finance colleagues, offering support and training in navigating our financial systems, policies, and procedures.

Sounds good? Here’s what we need from you…

  • Previous management accounting experience
  • Strong reconciliations experience, particularly balance sheet
  • High level of numeracy
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive approach to process improvement
  • ACCA, ACA, CIPFA or CIMA qualified 
  • Experience of using Open Accounts, or a similar financial ledger system
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • It’s important that you’re able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be organised, prioritise your workload and proactively manage your deadlines
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, be confident, collaborate with others and communicate effectively.

It would be a bonus if you had – 

  • Experience of working in the social housing sector
  • Experience of working with BI systems and MI report writing
  • Experience of supporting the implementation of new systems, processes and procedures

In return we offer £46,000 per annum for a 35 hour week with 25 days annual leave (rising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays.
