By joining our fantastic Insurance and Claims team as an Insurance and Claims Apprentice, you’ll be providing a customer focused professional and efficient insurance and claims handling service for our internal and external customers and other stakeholders. We’ll train you in key areas of Insurance and Claims, our expert team will be on hand to guide your personal and technical development throughout.

At Yorkshire Housing, we own and manage over 20,000 homes across the Yorkshire region. Providing our customers with a place they’re proud to call home is at the core of what we do. But our service doesn’t stop when the keys are in the door.

We build trusting, positive relationships with our customers by keeping their homes in tip-top condition and helping them to live independently. As an Insurance and Claims Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in this mission. 

 

What you’ll be getting up to

As an Insurance and Claims Support Apprentice you’ll be:

  • Gathering evidence and initiating investigation to defend claims
  • Supporting colleagues within the team in the handling of claims from first notification to settlement
  • Assisting the team in the procurement and annual renewal of Yorkshire Housing’s insurance.
  • Responding to enquiries from customers looking to make a claim and advise them of the process
  • Keeping claims systems up to date to ensure accurate reporting to key stakeholders within YH

As well as all that…

  • You’ll be studying and completing and passing all related coursework to obtain your Level 3 Business Administrator qualification
  • You’ll provide excellent customer service - we expect you to treat customers with respect, kindness and a friendly face!
  • You’ll work effectively in your own team and with other teams across Yorkshire Housing
  • You’ll carry out your work to the highest standards and comply with our health and safety regulations
  • You’ll produce accurate and timely information/records on the work you’ve completed

What you’ll bring to the role 

  • 5 GCSEs Grade C/Level 4 or above including Maths and English 
  • 2  A Levels grade D or above or equivalent  would be desirable 
  • A passion to learn and apply your knowledge in a practical environment 
  • A desire to grow your career in Insurance (work experience in an office based or similar role is a bonus but not essential!)
  • Curious and not afraid to ask questions and challenge
  • Dedicated and passionate about delivering work to a high standard
  • Driven and self-motivated
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook).
