We have an amazing opportunity to join us as an Insurance and Claims Support Apprentice, where you can earn as you learn from our fabulous Insurance and Claims teams.
We have big plans for the future here at Yorkshire Housing and as always customers are at our heart, so we need people who can provide customer focussed support and ensure all our important policies and procedures are stuck to. We’ll invest in you, our expert team will be on hand to support you through growing your insurance and personal skills, all while working towards a Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Qualification. What will I be doing?
By joining our Insurance and Claims team you’ll play a key operational support role within our Governance department. You’ll be delivering a top notch support service to Yorkshire Housing customers, providing an effective and efficient claims handling service. It will be a varied role where you’ll get to work with internal and external customers, and the claims could vary from property damage to housing disrepair.
You’ll work and learn from your peers, who will train you in key areas of Insurance and Claims, and they’ll be on hand to guide your personal and technical development throughout.
At the end of your apprenticeship, we’ll work together to support you into the next step of your development and work journey in Insurance.
Using your new skills you’ll gather evidence to help you investigate claims, advising customers of the process and keeping our claims system up to date. Reporting is important in a role like this so you’ll get lots of opportunities to put your reporting skills to use, sharing accurate and timely updates on work done.

What you’ll bring to the role
- 5 GCSEs Grade C/Level 4 or above including Maths and English A passion to learn and apply your knowledge in a practical environment Curious and not afraid to ask questions and challenge Dedicated and passionate about delivering work to a high standard Driven and self-motivated Excellent organisation skills Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines Excellent teamwork skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience of using Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook). Eagerness to develop own skills and adapt to change.
It would be a bonus if you had:
- A desire to grow your career in Insurance Work experience in an office / similar role 2 A Levels grade D or above or equivalent

The fine print

As this role is an apprenticeship, it’s a 24 month fixed contract, but once your fully qualified we’d work with you to secure you an opportunity with us at Yorkshire Housing as we know good talent when we see it!
