Job Introduction
We are delighted to be searching for an Information Security Analyst to join our expanding team. This is a new role to bolster our cyber security capabilities. You will be supporting the development, implementation and management of the overall information security strategy to ensure the protection of our systems and information assets from information security threats.
The Information Security Analyst does not need to perform hands-on cybersecurity engineering but must have a solid technical understanding to collaborate with Technology colleagues. As part of the Technology, Insight and Change Directorate, the role involves working closely with peers and the wider business to deliver an exceptional experience for colleagues and customers – living up to our Customer-Obsessed ethos!

What will you be doing?
You will contribute to developing and implementing Yorkshire Housing's information security strategy, policies, and standards to enhance cybersecurity maturity and you will assist in determining necessary security controls and ensuring compliance with standards (such as ISO 27001 and NIST).
You will support security audits, penetration testing, and remediation plans and you’ll conduct regular risk reviews and report findings, creating an Information Security roadmap to reduce risk.
We will be looking for collaboration with teams to manage daily security risks and for you to stay updated on emerging threats. You will help develop and manage the cyber security incident response plan, as well as design and deliver information security awareness programs, including phishing exercises and security campaigns.
Other tasks include assessing third-party suppliers' security risks and recommend controls, maintaining communication with technology specialists and acting as a key contact for information security.

Who are we looking for?

- Information Security professional with experience of working within security frameworks (e.g., ISO27001, NIST, Cyber Essentials)
- Experience supporting the development of information security policies and procedures, including practical experience of embedding policy across an organisation
- Good understanding of technical risk management and ability to demonstrate impact assessment skills, including an awareness of security risk mitigation approaches
- Knowledge of technical security controls, for example firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint security, DLP, encryption and identity and access management
- Relevant Information Security certification (e.g., CISSP, CISA) or willing to work towards
- Practical experience of working in a cyber or information security role
- Experience of working in an incident response team, an advantage
- An appreciation of relevant legislation affecting the delivery of IT services (e.g., GDPR, Computer Misuse Act, RIPA)
- It would be a real bonus if you have a degree in a technical or cyber security-related subject
