Job Introduction

Have you got an eye for detail?   Are you passionate about customer experience and problem-solving?  We may have just the role for you!  As a Homeownership Property Expert, you’ll use your skills to manage the legal processes involved in homeownership for our customers.  We’ll equip you with all the training you need so that you can take ownership of the customer journey, acting as a specialist in all matters relating to their lease and legal agreements.

Reporting to our Homeownership Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to join us at an exciting time, and be part of our supportive, forward thinking and pro-active team who get stuff done.  Our Homeownership Team are proud to have won Team of the Quarter at YH’s best of Yorkshire awards in 2024, so you’ll be surrounded by Yorkshire Housing’s finest!

We believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go so if you want to work for a company who are truly flexible and where you are valued then this could be the role for you!

What we’re all about

You can probably already tell that we’re not your typical housing provider! With around 20,000 homes (and more in the pipeline), we’re on track with our growth plan to build 8,000 new homes across Yorkshire.

We’re dedicated to creating exceptional customer experiences along the way and are on a mission to build a culture that prioritises excellence, innovation, and customer obsession.

What will you be doing?

With your customer centric approach, you’ll be resolving specialist homeownership queries, covering all sorts of lease and legal agreement matters along with guiding our customers through staircasing transactions and lease extensions. You’ll understand how best to communicate these tricky processes to our customers, as they’ll look to you for your expertise in this field.

This role is much more than managing cases too, you’ll be representing our homeowners across the business in matters that affect them, with the aim of increasing customer satisfaction and embedding a pre-emptive approach to their needs.

This is the sort of role where you’ll get to work with different teams across the customers homeownership journey to promote customer consultation, really looking to improve our overall service delivery.

You’ll be confident making decisions and considering how we maximise the potential of our assets, ensuring a consistent approach and signposting where needed.

Our customers will always be at the heart of everything you do, and other aspects of the role will include:

  • Managing a case load of homeownership specific requests and actions.
  • Referring and signposting cases to other teams where relevant, ensuring customers are clear on the handover to a new team.
  • Working alongside the Homeownership Account Expert you’ll monitor service charge expenditure and that services are delivered in line with budget constraints.
  • Proactively managing staircasing and lease extension transactions.

You’ll sometimes visit customers in their homes or travel to one of our Hubs for team meetings, so being able to travel across the Yorkshire region is important.
