Your Role
Well, you’ll be the operational lead for the on-site Delivery, Aftercare and Sustainability functions of the wider Development Team, setting clear direction and aligning people and activities to achieve the required outcomes of our Business Strategy.
You’ll be bringing teams together to work towards common goals, working to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Development teams in delivering a great product as well as providing excellent customer experience and of course value for money.
Being part of the senior leadership team at Yorkshire Housing, you’ll provide inspiring and confident leadership to your teams and the wider business, empowering colleagues and taking forward our culture of innovation, flexibility and service excellence.
We build a range of housing and a mix of housing tenures, so you’ll be managing the delivery of these. You’ll also closely manage all risks associated with construction contracts, delivery and budgets.
You’ll have a commercial approach, delivering innovation and managing external relationships, whilst working with our Technical and Sustainability teams on our roadmap to net zero.
We’re big on data, so you’ll have operational oversight of performance data, and will analyse this to report to our Director of Development, embedding a strong performance culture.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with a passion for Construction and Development, but most of all, we want someone who can inspire the teams around them whilst continuing to deliver high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
This role in return will give you purpose and meaning, and you will take it forward, helping us deliver our Development Programme.
The rest would also be great too –
- A track record of leading a large and diverse new build housing construction programmes
- A track record of managing multi skilled teams with confidence and skill.
- Sound knowledge and experience in residential construction and contract management and able to identify and manage risk.
- Knowledge of the affordable housing sector and funding requirements.
- Strong understanding of the whole development process from inception to completion.
- Able to work effectively and collaboratively with peers and the wider senior management team.
- A pragmatic and balanced approach to business risk with a strong eye for detail.
- A credible and articulate leader, who can inspiring teams towards shared goals and delivering excellent service and high performance.
- A natural coach, able to direct and lead in order to develop the team and other colleagues to perform to their best.
- Confident, independent and effective decision maker.
- A sound understanding of the challenges facing the housing sector, and the regulatory and legal frameworks we operate within.
- Knows what it takes to build trusting, influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Eagerness to develop own skills and adapt to change.
- Personal values and approach that align with YH’s values
- Ability to work flexibly in line with Hub, Home and Roam principles.
- An understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity and how this is applied through our service to customers and colleagues.
