We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Plumbing and Heating Apprentice in the York/Malton area. You’ll be really getting stuck in with the day to day installing of new heating systems including air source heat pumps and cylinders. You’ll also be learning from an experienced team along the way.

How much?
We pay £12,753 for first 12 months as well as 25 days annual leave for a 37.5 hour week.

What you’ll be doing
As a Plumbing and Heating Apprentice, you’ll provide excellent customer service - we expect you to treat customers with respect, kindness and a friendly face whilst carrying out work to the highest standards.
You’ll work alongside a fab team of experienced plumbing and heating professionals, carrying out day to day air source heat pump repairs in our properties. You’ll help with installations and complete routine checks, learning on the job.
On top of this you’ll be attending college and passing all your related coursework and exams to gain your Plumbing and Heating Level 3 qualification.
You’ll be the face of Yorkshire Housing to many of our tenants. So, respectful, warm and professional communication is a key part of this role.
You’ll also work closely with the compliance team in ensuring work is undertaken safely.
The stuff that sets you apart
We’re looking for people who can tick most of these boxes –
- GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above in Maths, English and Science
- A passion for learning, and growing your career in plumbing and heating (work experience in a similar role is a bonus, but not essential!)
- Good practical skills with a methodical approach to work
- Driven and self-motivated
- Passionate about doing the right thing, not the easy thing
- Ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
