Empty Homes Team Leader

Job Introduction

We’re on the look-out for an Empty Homes Team Leader in our East region (Yorks and Malton areas), to join our team here at Yorkshire Housing. If you’re a natural leader who knows their stuff when it comes to repairs – and you’re all about getting the best out of your team – then this could be just the job for you.

You’ll be leading a team of operatives, tech coaches, and admin support, making sure they’re delivering top-quality repairs, to turn our empty properties back into homes our customers can be proud of. From managing performance and keeping things on track, to jumping in with technical support and guiding your team through day-to-day challenges – this role’s all about raising standards and making a real difference.

You’ll keep things running smoothly, make sure the budget is in good shape, and keeping the team safe. You will be a key part of how we tackle big priorities like damp and mould. You’ll also play a big role in developing your team, spotting training needs and helping people grow.

We’re looking for someone who’s got solid experience in social housing repairs, with empty home experience, who knows how to manage a team and is confident juggling targets, systems and budgets. You’ll need a good eye for detail, great planning skills, H&S experience and a real passion for helping others do their best work. For full details check out the role profile!

In return, you’ll get £44,140.58 plus a £2,000 car allowance, 26 days holiday (rising annually to 31), flexible working and loads of great perks! We offer a reward package to suit everyone. At YH, you can claim back for prescriptions, eye tests and more with our cash plan, make the most of a variety of retail discounts and take advantage of our pension scheme where we’ll match your contributions up to 9%

Our people’s health and wellbeing are one of our top priorities, and you can make the most of our readily available wellbeing support package. This includes access to a library of free fitness classes, as well as an instant My GP service and free counselling sessions with a trained professional.

At YH, we’re actively building a working environment that’s inclusive as well as diverse, where everyone can contribute their best work and be themselves. We believe difference is what makes us stronger and recognise the importance of our teams reflecting communities we serve, so we welcome and encourage candidates from all backgrounds for this role.

The closing date for applications will be 4th May 2025, but we might close it early if we get lots of great candidates, so don’t hang around.  If you’re applying for this role internally, please inform your current line manager (it’s the right thing to do!).
