First things first, how much?  

We pay £38,363.92 for a 37.5-hour week. There's also opportunity to work overtime when required.

Where? 

You’ll do a lot of your work from home but will need to travel across the whole of Yorkshire as required.

As an Electrical Tech Coach, you’ll play a key role in making sure our tenants feel safe, secure and proud to live in a YH home from day one. Are you interested yet? 

  

What you’ll be doing 

You’ll be responsible for the effective day-to-day quality and compliance performance of Electrical Team operatives. You will provide technical advice, support and guidance on all aspects of service activities, legislation and safety, IT device and electrical software. 

You’ll also be undertaking Quality Control audits of operatives, scoring fairly against criteria and providing a consistent evaluation. 

You’ll coach the operatives within the Electrical Team towards success, by providing effective feedback and encouragement to keep learning and improving their performance. 

Aside from the technical stuff, a key part of your role will be role-modelling the Yorkshire Housing values and behaviours. We really care about creating trust and achieving impact with our customers. You’ll ensure that Electrical operatives replicate this level of service and bring our values to life through their daily tasks and attitude. 

You’ll work closely with Electrical team leaders to co-lead high-performing teams and achieve operational excellence and department objectives. But you’ll also work well independently, taking your own initiative to support operatives to problem solve and develop their personal and professional skill sets. 

You’ll be a trusted source of advice and key contact to operatives. This means you need to be approachable, supportive and a great relationship-builder.

The stuff that sets you apart 

This role would suit someone with experience in repairs and delivering domestic and commercial electrical services, installation, inspection and testing, and fault finding. You’ll also have a thorough knowledge of current Health and Safety best practices. 
   
  You’ll have a City & Guilds in a related electrical field to NVQ Level 3/AM2/City & Guilds 18th edition (up to most recent amendment)/City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent (Inspection, testing and reporting). 

You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for coaching and developing others. You’ll be a great role model, and not afraid to constructively challenge others to get the best out of them.
