Yorkshire Housing is looking for a Damp and Mould Multiskilled Operative to join our Repairs team in the York and Malton region. If you’re a skilled tradesperson with a passion for improving homes and helping customers live safely and comfortably, this could be the perfect role for you.

How much?

Up to £32,670.74 per year for a 37.5-hour week, plus opportunities for overtime.

What will I be doing?

As a Damp and Mould Multiskilled Operative, you’ll:

  • Carry out first inspections and triage of damp and mould issues in customer homes.
  • Conduct accurate root cause analysis, applying appropriate treatment solutions and completing repairs.
  • Perform multi-trade repairs works including joinery, plastering, basic plumbing, decorating, and general property maintenance.
  • Use smart devices to record visit outcomes, log customer queries, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Provide empathetic advice to customers on managing and preventing damp and mould.
  • Escalate complex cases to surveyors or other specialists when needed.
  • Work flexibly across the region and participate in a call-out rota (with advance notice).

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for experienced tradespeople who have a solid background in repairs and maintenance, ideally within social housing. You’ll be confident working across multiple trades and able to carry out tasks independently to a high standard. Experience and knowledge of damp and mould is highly valued, and you’ll be comfortable using tablets and basic IT tools to manage tasks and communicate effectively. A proactive, customer-focused approach is essential, along with strong organisational skills and a full UK driving licence.
