What you’ll be doing?
You’ll be involved in supporting business areas with commercial and financial insight along with regular performance reporting or forecasting. You’ll also be guiding and influencing managers on the management of their financial challenges or opportunities with appropriate financial planning and analysis. This may involve modelling, scenario planning or business case preparation for effective decision making.
You’ll be managing various relationships through collaboration, influence and negotiation with Finance and non-Finance stakeholders ensuring outputs are easily understood by all parties to support the achievement of objectives. From a reporting perspective, you’ll input into regulatory and statutory reporting as required.
It’s important you’ll also be identifying continuous improvement opportunities as part of your work.

What’s really important is that you’re a people person, with a knack for confident communication, negotiation and building relationships with key stakeholders.
- It’d be great if you’ve had some experience of the social housing sector.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. Certified or Chartered Accountant), or working towards.
- Commercially aware with an ability to solve problems, think strategically and drive change.
- Ability to influence, negotiate and challenge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of building successful relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and experience of providing meaningful business insight.
- Ability to make the make the most of technology and data.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, deliver to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
- Eagerness to develop own skills and adapt to change.
- Personal values and approach that align with YH’s values.
- Ability to work flexibly in line with Hub, Home and Roam principles.
- An understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity and how this is applied through our service to customers and colleagues.
