Asbestos and Legionella Administration Assistant

Job Introduction

We are excited to be on the lookout for our new Asbestos and Legionella Administrative Assistant, who can offer administrative support to our operational teams in the management of asbestos and legionella across our housing stock. This is a home-working role, with occasional visits to our central Leeds offices once each month for team get togethers.

In this role you’ll be part of a team of administrators supporting the fantastic Health & Safety team with scheduling, planning and completing work, ensuring all work meets with health and safety policies, procedures and most importantly the relevant legislation.

What will you be doing?

 

On a typical day you might be talking with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders via email, phone calls and meetings as well as processing invoices, managing the shared mailbox and multitasking like a pro in this varied and busy role. 

 

You’ll be someone who loves to spot a better way to do things and can see that through. 

 

You will be letting your customer obsession shine through by proactively communicating with them, letting them know of any changes to scheduling/planning and presenting alternative options to ensure the customer’s safety in number one and that the property stays compliant.

Who are we looking for?

The rest would also be great too – 

  • You’ll have strong administrative skills and be passionate about giving your customers the best possible experience.
  • You’ll be incredibly organised and love to multitask.
  • No previous experience in compliance and health and safety is necessary, although previous experience in housing and/or building safety and Health & Safety could be an advantage. 
  • You’ll have a fantastic attention to detail- so important when analysing those invoices! 
  • Brilliant communication skills and the ability to build great working relationships with all of your key stakeholders.
  • And of course we look for you to share our Yorkshire Housing values. 

 

You’ll be hungry to progress and expand your knowledge in the area of building safety. You can shadow people in the field to better understand their roles and you’ll be well supported by fantastic Asbestos and Legionella Manager.  If you wanted to you, could also pursue BOHS professional qualifications too!
