Applications Analyst (Workday)

Job Introduction

We’re on the lookout for an Applications Analyst with strong problem-solving skills and hands-on experience in Workday Financial Management to help shape how we use the platform here at Yorkshire Housing. It’s a brilliant time to join us, as we’re about to embark on a significant transformation journey with the implementation of Workday — a project that will change the way we manage our finances and support our teams across the business.

In this role, Workday will be your primary focus—you’ll oversee the transition of new modules, integrations, and enhancements into day-to-day operations, ensuring the platform runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently. You’ll also act as a Workday champion, providing end user support across the business and within your team to build internal capability and confidence in using the platform.

But your impact won’t stop there. While Workday will be at the heart of your role, you’ll also support a small portfolio of other business systems, helping to maintain a stable and effective technology environment across the wider business landscape.

We believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go—so if you want to work for a company that’s truly flexible and where you’re genuinely valued, this could be the role for you!

What we’re all about

You can probably already tell that we’re not your typical housing provider! With around 20,000 homes (and more in the pipeline), we’re on track with our growth plan to build 8,000 new homes across Yorkshire.

We’re dedicated to creating exceptional customer experiences and are on a mission to build a culture that prioritises excellence, innovation, and customer obsession.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading the transition of new Workday Financial Management modules, integrations, and enhancements into day-to-day support.
  • Ensuring the Workday platform runs smoothly—maintaining performance, data integrity, and compliance—while delivering updates, fixes, and financial process improvements in a structured, well-controlled way.
  • Working closely with Workday and other third-party vendors to manage both Workday and other systems under your care.
  • Supporting the operational environment and our Change Portfolio, ensuring seamless transitions from project to production.
  • Supporting, coaching and training colleagues—both within your team and across the business—on Workday best practices and functionality.
  • Collaborating with finance stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver an outstanding Workday experience that supports accurate reporting, efficient processes, and strategic decision-making.

This is a primarily home-based position, but you’ll need to travel to our Leeds office occasionally for team collaboration, training, and key meetings. Initial in-person onboarding will help you get up to speed, after which you’ll enjoy the flexibility to work where it suits you best.

What you’ll bring to the role

We’re looking for someone who’s not only technically skilled but also collaborative, organised, and eager to make a difference. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • A relevant Workday technical certification (Finance)
  • Experience administering and supporting Workday Financial Management
  • The ability to provide technical expertise, guidance, and assurance to a complex change portfolio
  • Experience in BAU operations, including system administration, maintenance, and support—especially transitioning from Change to BAU
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an approachable and collaborative style
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of testing, including creating test plans and recording results
  • Confidence working to deadlines and managing competing priorities
  • Experience delivering 2nd and 3rd line support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

What’s in it for you…

This a full-time permanent role with a salary of £44,140.58 per annum, for a 35-hour week plus 26 days annual leave (rising annually to 31 days) plus Bank Holidays.

We offer a reward package to suit everyone. At YH, you can claim back for prescriptions, eye tests and more with our cash plan, make the most of a variety of retail discounts and take advantage of our pension scheme where we’ll match your contributions up to 9%, just to name a few.

Our people’s health and wellbeing are one of our top priorities, and you can make the most of our readily available wellbeing support package. This includes access to a library of free fitness classes, as well as an instant My GP service and free counselling sessions with a trained professional.
