What will I be doing?
As an Activity Coordinator, you’ll design, plan, and deliver a varied programme of social, educational, and training activities that will engage and inspire older adults with diverse needs. From organising events that foster a sense of belonging to working alongside residents and community partners to co-create activities, you’ll be the driving force behind building a welcoming, participatory environment.
Your creativity and organisational skills will shine as you manage everything from event planning and publicity to budgeting and volunteer support. You’ll work closely with customer committees and community groups to ensure our schemes are integrated into the local community, promoting social inclusion and combating isolation. We’ve broken down some key responsibilities here:
- Create and coordinate a range of activities that cater to the needs and interests of older adults.
- Collaborate with residents to co-design events and activities that they truly value.
- Publicise and promote events through collaboration with our communications team and community partners.
- Actively encourage participation from residents, families, and the wider community.
- Support and guide volunteers to help deliver successful activities.
- Maintain accurate records, manage budgets, and ensure activities are self-sustaining.
- Promote the schemes to make them desirable places to live and visit.
What do you need from me?
- Experience in planning and delivering social activities, especially for older adults.
- A passion for building connections and creating inclusive environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in IT and good organizational skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility with working hours and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

This a part time permanent role with a salary of £12,969.32 per annum plus a £1,000 car allowance, 25 days annual leave (rising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata).
